HYDERABAD: Former BJP president M.Venkaiah Naidu has called for steps to promote Telugu and ensure that the future generations did not give a goby to the rich cultural practices.
Addressing the concluding session of the Singapore Telugu Conference on Monday, he expressed displeasure at the current trend of Telugus giving up "Telugudanam" in the matter of dressing and usage of the language, a party press release said.
He said pressure should be exerted on Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Orissa Governments for staring Telugu schools and on AIR and Doordarshan for allocating time to Telugu on their regional channels in the States.
