KHAMMAM: Mandal surveyor of Palvancha Sai Krishna has collected an ancient manuscript of శ్రీమద్ భగవతం (Srimadbhagavatham) of 17th century as part of the survey to collect ancient manuscripts from February 20 to 24.
He also collected two manuscripts of the Telugu version of శ్రీ మహాభారత వచన కావ్యం (Sri Mahabharatha Vachana Kavyam) dated 1894 running to 1600 pages. The manuscript contained two books, one from ఆది పర్వం (Adi Parvam) to ఉద్యోగ పర్వం (Udyoga Parvam) and the other book from భీష్మ పర్వం (Bhimsha Pravam) to సౌప్తిక పర్వం (Souptika Parvam).

Saikrishna found the rare treasures at the house of A Venkatadri, after knowing about the find from a relative. He went to their houses and collected the manuscripts, which are part of the Statewide survey to collect ancient manuscripts. "I hope at least now these rare manuscripts would be safeguarded and kept for posterity", he said.
Keeping the books in good shape proved to be an arduous task for Krishna. He tried in vain to keep them with the Satya Sai Baba.
