Stir for `classical language' gaining momentum

TIRUPATI: Telugu enthusiasts participated at a meeting organised here on Sunday to mobilise support to get the `classical language' tag to Telugu were of the unanimous opinion that campaign currently underway in a sporadic manner in different pockets of the State must be intensified into more concerted movement to exert pressure on the Government to concede what they called the just demand. Among the participants at the meet organised in the TTD's Central Library complex here were the general secretary of the umbrella organisation called తెలుగు భాషోద్యమం (`Telugu Bhashodyamam'), Samala Ramesh Babu, TTD's Joint Executive Officer, N. Muktheswara Rao, Director of the TTD's Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Academy, Bhuman, State leader of the movement, Saakam Nagaraja, coordinator of the తెలుగు భాష వికాసోద్యమం (`Telugu Bhasha Vikasodyamam'), N. Prabhakar Reddy. said that Telugu with a hoary past and rich tradition has all the qualifications and the evidence to secure the status.
