Issue all orders in Telugu, staff told
Chittoor, Dec. 29: Telugu Official Language Committee chairman A.B.K. Prasad stressed that there was an absolute need to change the mindset of the district officers. Chief Minister Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy had given the green signal for initiating stern action against anybody violating the instructions and directions of the Official Language Committee, he added.
Addressing a meeting at the ZP meeting hall here on Thursday, he said that there was no difficulty in using the official Telugu language for all correspondence. He said that the High Court had given directions to lower courts to deliver their judgements in Telugu only. He said that he had visited nine districts and observed the implementation of the official language.
Chittoor RDO O. Seshaiah, municipal chairperson Sarala Mary and municipal commissioner V. Rajendra Prasad were present. District in-charge minister N. Raghuveera Reddy, district collector S.S. Rawat, Zilla Parishad chairperson Reddamma and SP V.V. Gopalakrishna did not turn up to take part in the meet because of their busy schedule for the CM’s visit to Tirupati on Thursday.
