Andhra Pradesh to offer Kuchipudi course in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, May 17 (IANS) The Andhra Pradesh government is to conduct a 12-day training course on the classical dance form of Kuchipudi in Kerala for the second successive year.
'The culture department of Andhra Pradesh has come forward for this unique venture to see that no dilution takes place in this exquisite dance form,' said Anupama Mohan who heads the Sathyanjali Academy of Kuchipudi Dance in Kochi which has been authorised to conduct the course in Kerala capital Thiruvananthapuram from May 20.
'It is in order to preserve the classical aspects of Kuchipudi that they have decided to offer a basic course in the dance form for interested and aspiring dancers in Kerala,' said Mohan, a Telegu herself and wife of veteran Malayalam film director Mohan.
