Thyagaraja Trust annual festival from July 30
CHENNAI: The Tirupati-based Tyagaraja Trust is to hold its annual festival of music and dance from July 30 to August 8.
The 10-day festival is to be inaugurated by the Princess of Travancore, Gauri Lakshmibai. N. Murali, Managing Director of The Hindu and president of the Music Academy, will preside over the function. Industrialist P. Obul Reddy will be the chief guest. On August 6, the title Sapthgiri Sangeetha Vidwan Mani will be conferred on T.T. Sita of Hyderabad by M.V.S. Prasad, former Executive Officer of the TTD. The festival will feature some 60 artistes drawn from different parts of South India, according to K.V. Ranganathan, secretary of the Trust.
