Telugu, Kannada culturally bonded

BELLARY: Among the Dravidian languages, Telugu and Kannada are sister languages and are bonded culturally, said Government First Grade College principal G R Venkateshulu. He was addressing a programme on 'Language relationship in border areas', organised by the District Information Office at Siruguppa.
The contributions of late Bellary Raghavacharya, Krishnamacharya and Joladarasi Doddana Gouda had cemented the bond between the languages, he added.
Prof B Hanumantha Reddy of VKG College said people from the lower strata use both languages in the border areas. Language has never come in the way of cultural harmony.
In his keynote address, Siruguppa College Principal J N Mallappa said that people must love and respect other languages.
