Speaker to inaugurate language conservation conference
- As many as 80 artistes to perform
- Art exhibition by Bapu to be the high point of the festival
HYDERABAD: Singapore Telugu Samajam (STS) to enlighten the present generation about the Telugu Culture, Tradition and history of the language will be conducting, Singapore Telugu Cultural Festival-2006, from April 29 to May 1 in Singapore.
Speaking to reporters, samajam president V. Satyamurthy said a special meeting on Telugu language conservation conference would be inaugurated by Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy on April 29.
As many as 80 artistes will be performing in music concerts, Kuchipudi dance ballets, dramas and other cultural programmes, he added.
"Apart from felicitations to scholars, we will organise an art exhibition by Bapu, puppet shows and cultural programmes by local artists and children," Mr. Satyamurthy said.
Wooing tourists
Festival committee vice-chairman N. Krishna Kumar said a special business conference under the auspices of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) titled `Destination Andhra Pradesh' would be conducted on April 28 in Singapore. Major Tourism Minister J. Geeta Reddy will inaugurate the conference.
The meeting provide an opportunity to discuss investment prospects in Andhra Pradesh for the industrialists from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
