Puppet show on `Sundarakanda'

Team of artistes from Kakinada to present the show

VISAKHAPATNAM: A puppet show depicting `Sundarakanda' from Ramayana will be conducted by the Visakha Music and Dance Academy at Kalabharati on Monday evening. Puppet show, called Tholu Bommalata in Telugu, is one of the oldest forms of folk presentation of Indian classics in the countryside but unfortunately is a dying art now, according to Manager of Kalabharati C. Bhaskar Rao.

Most of the present generation might not have seen such a show before, he said.
