Andhra Kesari remembered

GUNTUR: Rich tributes were paid to the freedom fighter and first Chief Minister of United Andhra టంగుటూరి ప్రకాశం పంతులు (Andhra Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu) at function here on Thursday on the occasion of his 135th birth anniversary.

There was a lot to learn from the life of Prakasam Panthulu, who never showed any special favour to his relatives or known people and worked for the welfare of the people of the State as a whole.

He even sold his land, house and gold jewellery for the sake of people and such a sacrifice was hard to come these days, opined Brahmana Iykyatha Welfare Society secretary Siripurapu Venkata Sreedhar.

He had dared the British to fire at him and got freedom for the people,he lamented.

I feel good reading this. There are still people remembering our Telugu heroes. All our streets , schools, and other projects shall be named after these great people. Unfortunately, our own leaders are after names starting with Rajiv or india or Nehru. This is a systematic erasing of our own history. If it goes like this, the next generation will never know or remember these great personalities.
