Co-hosted by తెలుగు సాంసృతిక సమితి (Telugu Samskruthika Samithi) of IIT Madras and సిలికాన్‌ ఆంధ్ర (Silicon Andhra), USA, the celebration would have about 300 participants singing Annamayya keerthanas.

Indian Telugu Association founder president B. Nagesh said the function was organised for the first time in the city to commemorate the anniversary of the saint. Annamayya's 12th descendant Thallapaka Meena Lochani and Commissioner of Land Reforms V.Varaprasada Rao would participate.

The association, which was founded three years ago, aims to bring together the Telugu speaking community settled in various parts of the country. Mr. Nagesh said: "We plan to conduct spoken Telugu classes in an informal environment during May and also venture into social service."

A website attempting to connect the Telugu community, www.telugupeople.com, would be launched by the association by April end, he added.
