Language Panel to bring out monthly bulletin

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Official Language Commission has decided to bring out a 24-page monthly bulletin for popularising implementation of Telugu and its cultural aspects.

For this purpose it will also organise awareness conventions in districts in July and August.

These decisions were taken by the commission at a meeting here on June 20, according to a press release.

The conventions will be held in Nellore (July 17), Nizamabad (19), Warangal (21), Vikarabad (August 11), Visakhapatnam (23) and Vizianagaram (25). The meeting also resolved to celebrate `mother tongue day' in Kadapa and Khammam (September), Delhi and Mahabubnagar (October), Mumbai and Guntur (November), Vijayawada and Kolkata/Bangalore (December) and in Eluru and Chennai (January).

The commission decided to have the gateway of Hyderabad/Secunderabad written on the Tankbund entry points in Telugu, Urdu and English by the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad.
