Kalapeetham to honour scholar today

Book comprising 17 essays to be released

VISAKHAPATNAM: Eminent scholar Bethavolu Ramabrahmam will be honoured in the city by Sri Kopparapu Kavula Kalapeetham on the occasion of its third anniversary on Friday evening.

Announcing this at a media conference here on Thursday, kalapeetham's founder-president Maa Sarma said that a book with 17 essays written by noted writers on Kopparapu poets would be released on the occasion. Incidentally, the book was edited by Prof. Ramabrahmam, who would receive the annual award of the organisation this year.

Literary feats

``The book is the first of its kind on the literary feats of the twin-poets, Kopparapu Sodarulu. Sadguru Sivananda Murthy will release the book and the first copy is to be received by eminent local scholar Vedula Subrahmanya Sastry. Renowned Avadhani Garikapati Narasimha Rao will preside over the literary function which will be attended by the leader of the TDP Parliamentary Party K. Yerran Naidu and former MP Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad,'' he said.

It would be reviewed by two poets--A. Gopalarao from Vizianagaram and Rambhatla Nrusimha Sarma, Mr. Sarma said. Another eminent scholar, Mallapragada Srimannarayana from Jillellamudi, and Meegada Ramalinga Swami would speak.
