No offence meant, but I believe there are two things that need to be seen in the complete perspective:
* The translation of Krishnadeva Raya's quote should be "... in the land" and not just "...Indian languages"
* While singing for national integration, Subramanya Bharatiyar talked about singing in sundara Telugu and rowing with Keralite babes, but in sum, he has said, "yAm arindha mozhigaLilE tamizh mozhi pOl inidhAvadhu engum kANOm" - "Of all languages I know (he knew quite a few including Telugu and French), there is none sweeter than Tamil". The line you have mentioned is out of context.
