CHENNAI: A new party will be launched in Tamil Nadu to "protect the interests of Telugu speaking people."
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Tamizhaga Telugar Advisory Committee here.
The flag and symbol would be released after registration with the Election Commission.
The meet expressed its dissatisfaction at the political marginalisation of Telugu-speaking people, though they constituted 35-40 per cent of the State's population. The meeting demanded that besides free electricity, farmers be given fertilizer, pesticides and agricultural implements at a subsidised rate.
