తెలుగు సాహితి వారోత్సవాలు - తిరుపతి, నవంబరు 5

TIRUPATI: Once again, the temple town of Tirupati will witness a mega event of Telugu literature at Mahathi Auditorium in which the giants of Telugu literature, critics, film lyricists discuss in depth varied facets of Telugu literature, which has an enviable history of 1000 years.

Keeping with the tradition started a year ago, Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) is organising తెలుగు సాహితి వారోత్సవాలు (‘Telugu Sahithi Varotsavalu’) from November 5 to 11.

The focus of discussion last year was on the evolution of Telugu literature from 10th century and the centre point of literary discussions in the celebrations this year will be on ‘Human Values in Literature’.

‘‘In the present society, degradation of human values is a cause of concern. More often than not we find relations revolving purely around money and not on humanness”.

“It is pity that our rich culture and tradition, which lay emphasis on love, selflessness and humanitarian values, which were the basis of human relations, are slowly vanishing”.

“Telugu Sahithi Varotsavalu is a small step to remind the people about those values and our literature, which echoes them,’’ TUDA chief B Karunakar Reddy says.

The week-long literature festival will commence with వేదోత్సవం (‘Vedotsavam’) on November 5.
