Malaysia Telugus for increased interaction with home State

10-member team submits memor to Government

HYDERABAD: Telugus in Malaysia want continued interaction with Andhra Pradesh for promotion of the Telugu language, culture and heritage in the island nation for the benefit of their children.

A 10-member delegation of the Malaysia Telugu Sangham which represents the 3-lakh Telugu population in that country, here on Saturday submitted memoranda to Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Revenue and Youth Welfare Minister D. Prasada Rao, seeking purohits, teachers, printed material on Telugu literature from the State. According to G. Nageswara Rao, Commissioner for Youth Welfare, who accompanied the delegation, ETV has made arrangements to beam programmes in Malaysia from September 5 and Maa TV from March next.
