Andhra Bank plans 50 more branches

MUMBAI: Hyderabad-based Andhra Bank said on Sunday said it is planning to open 50 branches this fiscal and will soon expand its operations abroad by opening a representative office in Dubai.

“We would be opening 50 new branches this fiscal with around 10 branches in Orissa, which has a huge Telugu-speaking population,” Andhra Bank CMD K Ramakrishnan said. On the Dubai office, he said the bank is still awaiting clearance from the host country, while it had received a go-ahead from the RBI.

Ramakrishnan said the bank is also interested in setting up a representative office in the US as it has a large Telugu population.
