Panel's plea to Govt. on Telugu in schools

KADAPA: Official Language Commission chairman ABK Prasad on Tuesday urged the government to implement GO No 86 in full, making teaching Telugu compulsory in all private and government schools at the primary level.
Every individual, whose mother tongue is Telugu, must create awareness about the importance of education in the mother tongue at the primary level, Prasad said.

Speaking at the regional convention, Maa Telugu Thalliki Mallepudanda, organised by the commission here, he emphasised creating awareness among children that command over one's mother tongue at an early age would automatically pave way for mastering other subjects.
