Telugu meet at Bellary

Hyderabad: Eminent personalities, including film stars and political leaders, will attend the two-day Telugu meet organised by Karnataka Telugu Association at Bellary on May 27 and 28.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Maharashtra Governer S M Krishna besides Andhra ministers M Satyanarayana Rao, J Geeta Reddy and a host of film stars are expected to attend the event, Association President, Garapati Ramakrishna told reporters here today.

Film stars K Satyanarayana, Suhasini, Kanta Rao, Sirkant and others would be presented the `Bellary Raghava' award for their contribution to the film industry.

Raghava, who was born in Bellary, was the doyen of Telugu theatre in 1940s and 50s until films became a popular medium especially in the rural areas.
